Hammer Down Southbound – Traveling South towards Baler – This is our Phi...

We are hammered
down and southbound! We packed up the van with our little crowd and decided to
head out of town for the weekend. We have never driven out of Cauayan without a
driver, so this is a new experience for us all.
We were not sure
where we were headed and made no calls ahead for rooms. We just knew we were
headed south towards the beach and that was good enough for us! We knew where
Baler was, so that was a focal point for us to head in that direction.
Come along as we
enjoy the drive down towards the coast. This video is the start of our trip
taking us out of Cauayan through Enchague and down through Jones.

Filipino Games Kids Play – Matthew and Megan Have Fun – This is our Phil...

Just being contented at home! Nothing exciting, but just enjoying seeing the kids play and laugh together.

You never know what to expect around our house during the evenings. The kids always have some sort of games or other entertainment they provide us with. Matthew and Megan play these games quite often. I remember games like this we played as kids, but not all the motions to them. They have several versions they play, and all have different motions that must be memorized.

Mama sits and folds the clothes and enjoys her little time on the new couch while they play. This is about the only time during the day she must sit down at all. She is usually busy running here or there throughout the day.

If you enjoy these videos, we would really appreciate if you would give us a like on the video. We would also enjoy reading any comments you may have while watching. NIPA HUT REPAIR – RECOVERY FROM TYPHOON ROSITA – This is our Philippines

On October 30th
of 2018, Typhoon Rosita bore down on the Cagayan Valley. We were just on the
north of the track it took across the Philippines. At landfall, Typhoon Rosita
was considered a CAT3 storm. It brought strong winds along with heavy rains to
our part of the valley.
We were lucky to
only have minimal damage done. Trees came down along with some minor structural
damage. The nipa huts we have for customers out at the store were blown over
and the roofs needed replaced. We finally got someone to come and do this for
us. Before long, they had the roofs replaced and we were back in business.   #TyphoonRosita

2 BIT HAIRCUTS – Sammy and Matthew at Labboy’s Barber Shop – This is our...

If you are not a
subscriber to our Youtube channel This Is Our Philippines, we would love to
have you come subscribe. We hope you have enjoyed our videos and will come
subscribe to our channel. You can also follow us on FaceBook at This Is Our
Philippines as well!
On the way home
from our shopping in Santiago, the kids needed a haircut. In the Philippines it
is not hard to find a place along the road that has “open air” barber shops.
Maly has been taking the boys to Labboy’s Barber Shop when they needed a
haircut.
Can you believe
the cost is still just a dollar to get your hair cut? You won’t find those
prices in the good ole US of A anymore I bet! For just 50PHP the boys got their
haircuts and looked like school boys once again. Sure you can find more
elaborate barber shops in town or in the mall, but they will cost more too. The
price would almost triple if we were to go to the mall to get haircuts.

La Sedia Furniture Santiago– Our First Couch – This is our Philippines

Finally we are at
a furniture store that actually has some recliners in stock! We had to travel
down to Santiago to find La Sedia Furniture. They have a selection of
sectionals and other couches available to choose from.

For the past 7
years, we have been sitting on a wooden couch. It maybe cooler, but it sure
takes a toll on you at the end of a day if you want to just relax. We (well at
least I am) looking forward to getting this couch home and being able to sit
and relax. Not sure if there is much of that going on around the house, but at
least we will now have that option!  #Cauayan

Belly Good Grill House – It was a Belly Good Time – This is our Philippines

Welcome home! There was a new restaurant in Cauayan that
had opened while I was away. I had saw several posts on Face Book talking about
it and the unlimited Korean BBQ meals they served. We like Korean BBQ and this
is the first restaurant of its kind to open in Cauayan.
We brought a crowd with us to have a welcome home party.
There is not that much seating there, so we arrived just as they opened for the
evening meal to ensure we had seats. The meal consists of Korean BBQ meats such
as pork samgyupsal, marinated spicy pork and beef bulgogi. It also came with a
few side dishes called “ban chan” and rice.
I think it is safe to say that we all had a “belly good”
time and enjoyed our meal. We will be back again to try more of what is on the
menu! #Cauayan #BellyGoodGrillHouse

Tuguegarao to Cauayan via Pan Philippine Hwy AH26! – This is our Philipp...

After arriving in
Tuguegarao and having a quick bite to eat, it was time to head home. We headed
south following the Pan-Philippine Hwy/AH26 down through Ilagan. We would
usually take another route through Roxas, but during Typhoon Rosita the bridge
along that route was washed out. This is a nice little drive that takes
approximately 2 hour 30 minutes. Hope you will enjoy some of the scenery along
the way.  #RoadTrips #NorthernLuzon
