It was malamig (cold) this morning in the Philippines!  As we enjoyed our coffee and bikol this chilly

Playing the “Speak Out Game” with the Kids – This is Our Philippines

Dad and Mrs Sue,
The kids had picked out a new game while visiting our local
mall. We got home and they had to try it out right away. This is the Speak Out
game. You have a mouth piece you place in your mouth that stretches it out. You
then have these phrases on cards you are supposed to say. I thought this would
be a pretty easy game for us to play. Boy was I wrong. I could never figure out
the words being said.

Come along on our family night as we try this game out.
Maybe you can figure out some of the phrases before we do. How about giving it
a try! #ThisIsOurPhilippines

SPECIAL – A Tribute To My Father On His Birthday! This is Our Philippines

My dad has
been one of the most supportive and influential people in my life, and I can’t
imagine what I would ever do without him. On this very day back in 1934, he was
born. That is 84 long and prosperous years he has been with us. He had 5 kids,
14 grand kids and 7 great grandkids of his own and he has attained many others
through various marriages. As his birthday is today, I wanted to dedicate this
video to him ti show how great an individual he has been over the years!
One of
the things I am most thankful for about my dad is that he's showed me how to
work hard. He held numerous jobs as he raised us all. From farmer to mill
worker on to the Milk route and meat route. I remember mostly the days on the
milk route he ran in our small town of Opp, AL. He would rise early to get to
his job and work hard all day. Many nights on the way home from work, if he
would pass by the Piggly Wiggly or IGA in town he would stop by even then to
pull up his milk displays.
He was
always there for us. Leading and guiding us in the way we should go as
children. He was always there to provide discipline when we needed it or a word
of encouragement. He was always fair and balanced with us no matter the
situation.
My dad is
one of those people that will drop everything just to be there for the people
he cares about. He has been a pastor for most of his life and it would
take this caring attitude to be a servant to those he ministered to. Often he
could be called in the middle of the night to go be with someone in need. Never
once did he hesitate to answer this call.

Dad,
thank you for all that you've done. You are one of my biggest sources of
inspiration and I'm so thankful to have you in my life. I appreciate all you do
for your loved ones, and you are truly an amazing person. I hope you have an
amazing birthday. This one's for you!

NAIA Terminal 3 and Beyond – This is Our Philippines

I had a little bit of time on my hands between my
international flight from Dubai to my domestic flight into Cauayan this time
around. I took the time to do a little exploring while at NAIA terminal 3 in
Manila. This is one of the newer terminals and in my opinion, it is one of the
best Manila has to offer. NAIA terminal 3 is the main hub for the domestic flights for Cebu Pacific and also is a hub for a few of the major International carriers. I had flown in on Emirates this morning.

I first went to locate the Manila Runway as it is called. It
is a foot bridge that connects the airport with the Resorts World complex
across the road. Before this bridge was constructed, it could take forever
waiting on a taxi at the airport to just get you across this busy road. Now
within a matter of minutes you can get from Resorts World to the airport. This
includes a security check of your bags. No long lines to wait in outside the
airport. It is now really convenient.

I then go down stairs to find the ticket counter. To my
surprise, the boarding passes are now automated outside of the check-in counter
area. You simply walk to a machine, put in your reference number and print your
boarding pass. If you have no check-in luggage you are on your way! Even when I
thought I might have to check in a bag, they simply let me through.

The only disappointment on this morning was the flight to
Cauayan itself. I guess it is always to be safe than sorry when flying though.
For some reason, after we had taxied out to the taxi way, the pilots brought us
back in and we had to change planes. Even with the delay, I finally did make it
home to see everyone that morning. Just a little later than planned.  #ThisisOurPhilippines
